Cornwall Contemporary opened on 1st September 2006. Director, Sarah Brittain has been involved in the arts since graduating from Falmouth College of Art in 1996. She is the author of Behind the Canvas - 40 artists living and working in Penwith and has also collaborated on and contributed to numerous artist catalogues and books. She is passionate about the artist’s work she exhibits and aims to provide an excellent service both for them and for the clients who wish to purchase a wonderful and unique work of art for their home. Call or email and she will be delighted to answer any queries you may have.Sarah is often accompanied by her dog Ghibli who can be found under her feet at her desk, and well behaved dogs on leads are most welcome into the gallery.

The gallery is situated at the top of historic Chapel Street in Penzance and is within five minutes walking distance of both Penlee House Gallery and also The Exchange Gallery. It is a large, spacious gallery set out over three floors. The ground floor is used for changing exhibitions and the upper two floors are used for mixed work by gallery artists.

Exhibitions at Cornwall Contemporary change monthly and aim to represent the very best of art in Cornwall and from out of the county. Well established and highly respected artists often exhibit alongside some of the most promising up - and - coming art school graduates. Regular exhibiting artists include Daphne McClure, Emma Dunbar, Nancy Picard, Neil Pinkett, Alasdair Lindsay, Maggie Matthews, Emma McClure, Fiona Millais, Anja Percival, Richard Ballinger, Simon Pooley, Myles Oxenford, Simon Stooks, Shirley Foote, Paul Lewin, Janet Lynch and Rachael Kantaris amongst others.
